Greetings everybody. I'm sorry it's been so long since I have posted. Tomorrow evening at 4 PM I will be attending a county council meeting in order to help the Sons Of the Beach.
Call to Action!
The Volusia County Council has added an agenda item to discuss how to change ordinances about tolls for beach access ramps, and possibly making them free for residents. This is one of the founding reasons the Sons of the Beach began organizing in the 80s! It is IMPERATIVE that this item not die at the March 21st meeting so we need your help!Â
SEND AN EMAIL: If this is important to you, we ask that you email all Council Members BEFORE THE MEETING! Citizen emails are often quoted when the council gives their opinions. The item is only a proposal at this stage, but it may become an ordinance presented for first and second reading.Â
ATTEND THE MEETING: If you can, meet us at 123 W. Indiana Ave. (County Seat) in Deland at 4:00pm on March 21, 2023, please wear an SOB T-SHIRT or other YELLOW SHIRT to show your support.  If you would like to speak at this meeting, we encourage you to do so. By just attending with your SOB T-shirt or wearing yellow, you will be showing your support.Â

I heard from Jeff Brower and Troy Kent who both expressed agreement with this.
Got one response back so far from Jeff Bower ands he agreed!
When you copy and paste the email addresses above, you will need to edit them so that they do not all run together (which will cause an error). Just move your cursor after each .org and hit comma and space. This will alert the email client that you have numerous email addresses you are sending to.
@joanne. We would like them to support removing tolls for residents.
I am unable to attend the meeting but will send emails.. However, unsure of the message we are to get across.
